The Canadian dollar ended another day gaining versus its U.S. counterpart, as government officials affirmed that the country may be already getting out of recession.
The loonie posted its sixth day of gains versus the greenback after Canadian government officials said that the country may soon start to grow economically again, continuing the longest winning streak for the Canadian dollar versus its U.S. counterpart since May 2008. The oil, one of the main Canadian exports and the stocks also helped the Canadian dollar to gain, since their movements are very influential in the loonie’s trends.
USD/CAD traded at 1.0840 as of 20:22 GMT from 1.0855 yesterday.
