Iran Now Controls Lebanese Army

In Lebanon, the tension is still high towards the expected indictment of Hezbollah members for the murder of former prime minister Rafik Hariri, due on Thursday, December 2nd. In the meantime, prime minister Saad Hariri, son of murdered Rafik, concluded a three day visit in Teheran with an agreement to put the Lebanese army under the de-facto control of the Iranians, similar to the way that Hezbollah is taking orders from Iranian forces sitting in Damascus, Syria.

The fear is that the Lebanese internal tensions will turn into a war involving Israel as well. A violent conflict in the Middle East will send oil prices, the dollar, the Swiss Franc and the Japanese yen higher.
