Many traders dip their feet into the cold waters of the markets without proper education. There are now serious opportunities for receiving thorough knowledge, and doing it online.
The University of Essex Online and FXStreet, one of the largest forex portals, are following their success and announcing a second intake of the Financial Trading Analysis course. All the details are here below, from the official press release:
Barcelona, April 20, 2015 – FXStreet and University of Essex Online announce the second intake of their joint online programme aimed at providing students with an introduction into trading and investment. The course, Financial Trading Analysis (FTA), is a short Masters level introduction to finance for those who have an active interest in trading, investment and risk management, and want to learn more about financial markets and how they operate. After a successful first intake in January, the second intake will start on May 5th. Applications are open until April 30.
The Financial Trading Analysis course is focused on how financial securities and assets are analysed, used and traded by different market participants for different applications. It develops students understanding of different asset classes (including foreign exchange, commodities, stocks, and derivatives), analytical approaches, risk management strategies and trading psychology.
Students will be able to put their learning into play on live trading simulators while benefiting from the insight of experienced industry professionals. Additionally, this 4-month course is worth 20 credits at Level 7 (Masters Level), which can be carried forward and converted should a student progress onto a University of Essex Online Essex Online MBA or Masters in Business and Management course. A successful first intake
The students who started the course in January were from a diverse range of backgrounds, and their feedback on the course was very positive.
“The first cohort in our partnership with University of Essex Online has been very successful. Enrolled students included engineers, financial professionals and programmers, as well as lawyers, civil servants, and self-employed businessmen who are all independent traders in their spare time,” said Gus Farrow, Course Leader. He added that “the feedback we have had has been outstanding, with many praising the way that previously complex information is broken down into bite size pieces.”
Students Testimonials:
“I’m absolutely loving it. There’s not too many places that you can discuss Forex/trading online with like minded people without it turning messy and into a bit of a joke so the discussion forum is great.
The course content is also fantastic. Really concise and gets to the point rather than at Uni where you could be sitting through a lecture for an hour and come out feeling overwhelmed or only have a vague idea about what the lecturer was talking about.
It’s kind of getting to that stage where I’m constantly thinking about the markets. Is that normal or healthy?!”
David Belle, United Kingdom“The course is beautiful. It explains everything perfectly. I am very impressed. The course material provided, both as lectures/ podcasts and assigned reading materials are very comprehensive.
I did the course with absolutely no back ground in finance and economics, and after my first four weeks was already in a position where I could understand and discuss government economic policies and the expected outcomes with confidence.
Additionally one gets the chance to do real life like trading simulations, which gives you the chance to apply the material learnt to the real world situations. The fact the the course combines theory with practical application makes it a very useful course for a trader of financial instruments, or anyone who is interested in learning about, or would like to venture into the world of financial trading.”
Woril Turner, Sweden
Carolina May, CEO of FXStreet, declared: “To be part of such a project is a cause of great pride for FXStreet. One of our main goals has always been to help traders to make informed decisions, develop their own strategies and in the end, become wise and educated traders… Producing this academical course together with the University of Essex Online proves that FXStreet is a realeducational actor in the trading field.”
Teachers are professionals
“Also a huge area of favour has been that courses are taught by professionals, and not gurus,” said Gus Farrow. “We pride ourselves on letting students know firmly that there is no fast track or secret to success. Our first intake has been a brilliant group who we are excited about sharing an alumni network with.”
